I’m Billy Eli. Throughout my life, I have made a point to observe what is going on around and to see how I fit in. Sometimes I improve my fit, other times I have felt completely out of whack and sought to figure out how to change. That has sometimes meant seeing a therapist for a while to help me learn how to navigate changes in life or differences in the world as I expected and the world I actually saw around me.
I’ve been a pipeliner and worked with bluecollar workers. I’ve been a touring musician and worked with artsy folks. I’m married to a lawyer and have been around professionals. I also have children, including two with significant special needs. In all my life I’ve had exposure to a lot of different backgrounds and lifestyles, and am comfortable with people in all walks of life. I finally got up the courage to start college for the first time ever at the age of 56 and I now have a bachelors degree in psychology and am in the final stages of a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling.
I have a particular interest in working with men who are struggling with life transitions and changes in the world around them. Men who are looking at changes in their family, changes in their work, or struggling with realizations about themselves will find a safe space in my practice. I am committed to meeting people where they are and then helping them achieve their mental health goals. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques and models tailored to the individual. I am empathetic, non-judgmental, and focused on practical tools to help improve your journey in life.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, graduating Cum Laude from Southern New Hampshire University. I am currently working toward a Master of Arts Degree in Mental Health Counseling at West Texas A&M University. I expect to graduate in Spring 2025 and am fulfilling my internship requirement during this year. As an intern, I see clients the same way I would if I were not an intern, but I have a supervisor with whom I can review sessions and obtain additional guidance on how to help my clients. If you choose to work with me during this intern year, you will be able to continue with me after my graduation.

FAQ
How will I meet with you?
All counseling sessions are by videoconference. You can attend from your home or office or anywhere. Once we make an appointment, I will send you a link, you click it, and you are in the videoconference space. You do not need to download anything and you do not need to know anything other than how to click a link. You can do this on a computer or your smartphone.
What will happen in our first session?
We will talk. You will tell me why you are looking for a counselor to talk to. I will ask you some general questions that help me get to know you. We will talk about what goals you have, and if you don’t have any, we will talk about what you would like your life to look like and then we will start figuring out the steps needed to get there.
How often will we meet?
That depends on your own situation. After our first session I’ll make a recommendation about how often we should meet, but we will make a decision together about how often to meet. Then we will schedule the next session.
How do I pay?
You will be asked to pay prior to each meeting. There will be a payment link in the same email with your meeting link.
How much does it cost?
My fee is $75 for each session. How much it costs overall depends on how often we meet. I have discounted fees available for people who need them. If cost would keep you from meeting with me, simply ask about discounts and we’ll make sure we put you in a plan you can afford.
I see that you are an intern. What does that mean?
Licensed mental health counselors must have a Master’s degree, which includes completing an internship. Interns have completed most or all of the required classes. They begin seeing clients and working as a counselor, but they have a licensed counselor acting as a supervisor. This ensures that brand new counselors have an experienced counselor to review things with as they are beginning their work. As a client, your experience will be the same as working with a licensed counselor, but you will be asked to acknowledge that you understand your counselor is an intern and may discuss your matter with their supervisor.
